About the Role
As General Manager reporting the Executive Committee, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of the Club and play a key role in ensuring its continued success. Every day will bring something new, from overseeing the Club’s financial performance to managing facility maintenance and capital projects and you will:
Engage with members, staff, and stakeholders to nurture a strong boating community.
Drive the Club’s sustainability and environmental initiatives to keep our waters clean and safe.
Oversee facility maintenance and improvements, managing projects to enhance the Club’s offerings.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and Club policies, maintaining a safe environment for all members.
Represent the Club in discussions with external stakeholders such as the council, industry bodies, and local businesses.
Lead and support Club events, boating activities, and community outreach initiatives.
Provide mentorship and leadership to staff, fostering a positive and high-performing team.
The Ideal Candidate
To excel in this role, you will be a proactive communicator who thrives in a flexible and collaborative environment. We’re looking for someone with:
Proven experience in strategic planning and implementation, particularly in improving and developing Club operations.
Strong financial skills and the ability to report to an Executive Committee.
A background in the marine industry or a keen interest in boating and environmental conservation.
The ability to adapt quickly to the Club’s 24/7 nature, participating in Club activities and supporting members during weekends, public holidays, and in all weather conditions.
